Sickest Witch, Hayride for Mork Borg
A downloadable project
Sickest Witch - Hayride is a vicious adventure to recover 3 kidnapped witches from Robert Killroy and his Artist Bandits. As a prequel to Beneath, the Inverted Church, it functions as a stand-alone module or a session zero if you also want to take your party on a longer journey through Beneath.
For 2 to 6 players, this could be a one night session, but is probably best for 2 to 3 nights.
Choose from four unique Witch Subclasses
Each class has stats, powers, and their own specialized weapons.
Seducer
You know the easiest way to harvest body parts from your idiot victims is to lure them with your charisma and physical presence. This doesn’t mean you don’t love the increasing pressure of a dagger into muscle and organ before the wound pisses hot. You put your lips to that fresh gash, lean in, and laugh.
Conjurer
Your fingertips and ears and lips buzz with the ability to bring forth abominations both lovely and violent. At night, they come to you and nuzzle your face—the tackiness of blood slicking to hair, the pleasing devotion of an undead familiar. Come, come.
Cook
The sensuous gift of food—the way crushed teeth feels like sifting grain—how stubborn tendons snap like reeds. You see the world in its basic components. Everything is an ingredient for you to combine and remake. And with all the crude mistakes of man, you are here to correct them with a blade and a bit of fire.
Warrior
You were never quite satisfied with the sublime ways of the witch. Sometimes harvesting organs was your best excuse to engage in brutal combat. “Don’t damage their organs!” your mentor would shout as you hammered arrows into a man running for his life. “You’ll spoil their power!” That phrase, a decade later, still worms your ear. Now you are known for skinning your victims after gutting them for fleshy prices. Now your reputation for flaying is sung on the lips of local children and even hunters who avoid Black Branch and the forest surrounding it.
Enter the Wilted Forest
Imagine back when you were young, maybe only four or five years old—the first memory of complete darkness. Alone. In your bedroom. The pitch blackness of a silent room. You blink. And blink again. But that roaring darkness doesn’t change. You panic, thinking it will never go away.
This is the thick blackness of the Wilted Forest at night. The moon’s brightness completely absent. Stout trees grow trunk to trunk as if walling off invaders, their roots reaching out to cripple horses and cart wheels. This is where things go to hide or die—typically both. The party must use torches or other illumination to see.
Harvest Body Parts
You can imbue any human part or organ from the list above. A body can only yield one part at a time—this is important—example: you cannot harvest a heart and a hand from the same body unless an ability allows you to. The person you are taking a part from doesn’t have to die if you are only taking a hand or an eye. You can hold up to four body parts in your Stained Salt lined sack at a time.
